Silicon Valley’s Focused Fitness Community
Focused Integrated Training is a group of community-based certified personal trainers led by kinesiology and fitness training professional Mike Coleman. Mike started as a personal trainer in 2007 and grew a following and community around his results-oriented programming combined with personal support and attention. All FIT instructors are trained in Mike’s philosophy and teaching style.
Head Coach and founder
Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and is a lifelong athlete and fitness fanatic. He competed in judo and wrestling in his youth and was twice a candidate for the U.S. Olympic team. As an adult, he moved to endurance sports such as marathon running and mountain climbing, competing in events all over the globe.
Mike has studied and trained with world-class athletes and coaches, and is motivated by a strong belief that everyone, not just professional athletes can and should enjoy the benefits of physical fitness. He loves seeing people transform not only their bodies but their whole demeanor and attitude as they become stronger, leaner, and more confident.
A lifelong learner, Mike is continually studying and adding new certifications to his already impressive list to make sure his clients are never bored and FIT trainers are always providing the best possible instruction based on the most recent research.
Charity is a Physical Education teacher at Evergreen Valley High School. Charity has been a fitness fanatic since her adolescence years. From the age of 9 to 18 she participated in Tae Kwon Do and was able to obtain a 2nd degree black belt. After graduating high school, she decided to pursue her love for fitness and sports. Charity chose to get her degree in Kinesiology emphasis in Athletic Training from San Jose State University and also got her teaching credential.
Alissa is a lifelong athlete who is passionate about personal fitness. She started playing tennis at a very young age and went on to pursue basketball, track and field, weightlifting and conditioning. She studied track and field and fitness under Mike Coleman as student at Davis Middle School, where he was her track coach.
Alissa graduated from San Jose State in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Her coursework included many therapeutic and adaptive modalities for people with disabilities and physical limitations. After graduating, she completed her internship with Focused Integrated Training while working toward her NASM Personal Trainer certificate.
Alissa loves the community aspect of FIT. When she’s not working as a trainer, she works with the physically disabled at SJSU’s Timpany Aquatic Center and leads health and wellness classes for the elderly.
Marco became passionate about fitness and health at a young age and earned his Bachelor of Science specializing in Exercise and Fitness from San Jose State University. He is certified as a personal through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), a nationally recognized accreditation. He is CPR/AED certified as well.
Marco is passionate about helping people improve their lives. In his seven years as a fitness professional, he has helped scores of people lose weight, gain confidence, and adopt a healthier lifestyle. He gives back to the community as a volunteer coach for youth flag football.
In his spare time, Marco enjoys going on adventurous hikes and reading up on new research and developments related to fitness and sport performance. In the near future, he plans on becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Meri is Focused Integrated Training’s business manager, stylist, and co-leader of the Jeans Challenge. She has a Physical Education Teaching Credential and is responsible for coordinating special events, races, and FIT’s community involvement. She enjoys running in 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons and you can often work out alongside her in the Boot Camp classes.
In addition to her teaching credential, Meri studied fashion merchandising. This makes her perfect for the role of FITs resident stylist. FIT helps people feel empowered in their body, and Meri helps them feel confident in the clothes they put on it.
